Wire tool brushes are effective for cleaning and polishing hard surfaces. But when friction from cleaning tools used on those surfaces could generate sparks, the risk of fire or explosion is very real. Intercon supplies non-sparking wire brushes. Choose handheld tool brushes or cup wheel–style wire brushes made for power tools.

Our non-sparking brushes are made from aluminum bronze, which doesn’t contain any iron. Although these tools can throw sparks as a result of impact or friction, the sparks aren’t hot enough to ignite flammable or combustible vapors or powders. Because friction is an obvious aspect of using a wire brush to clean or polish, it’s critical to use a non-sparking brush when working in high-risk environments.
